Smith declared ahead of Monday night\u2019s game that he would blame Trump\u2019s attendance to the game if the New York Knicks lost (they did), Trump responded that while Smith is \u201ca nice guy,\u201d you \u201cneed a certain aptitude to run for president \u2014 you need a high IQ \u2014 I\u2019m not sure he has that. I don\u2019t think he does, actually.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTrump went on to claim, falsely, that the boos heard in the Garden when he was shown during the pre-game performance of the National Anthem were \u201cmostly cheers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSmith \u2014 who has toyed with the idea of running for president \u2014\u00a0criticized Trump for imposing himself, and a host of strict security measures, on the NBA Finals. The Secret Service set up a hard perimeter around the arena, fans were forced to wait in line for hours to pass through advanced screenings, and public watch parties were forced to relocate away from their usual spaces near the arena.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThis is about an individual engaging in a level of narcissism that really rakes my freakin\u2019 nerves,\u201d Smith said on Monday. \u201cHe\u2019s got no business here tonight. It has nothing to do with politics. It was everything to do with the fervor that exists around the New York Knicks and he is disrupting everything the Knicks have been vibing with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI would say the same thing if it were Obama, George W., Clinton \u2014 I don\u2019t give a damn [if] we went back to Reagan,\u201d Smith added. \u201cIf it causes the Knicks to lose tonight, I\u2019m blaming him. I\u2019m blaming the president of the United States.\u201c\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn response to the president questioning his intelligence, Smith said on Tuesday that if the president \u201cwants to talk about IQ, I could say I could put my IQ against yours.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI got something even better. I could ask you why you\u2019ve been running from me for the past year since I asked you to talk to me. I could ask you to debate me since you think you\u2019re that dude. We could go a myriad of ways,\u201d he added. Smith called out the loss of revenue to locals bars around the arena: \u201cI thought you were about the economy? Insurers Are Denying It<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tTrump\u2019s response to Smith\u2019s comments was not the first time he\u2019s lashed out at a prominent person of color in American media or politics by questioning their intelligence. Earlier this year, he referred to Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson \u2014 the first Black woman to serve as a justice \u2014 as the \u201cnew low-IQ\u201d person on the court.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe president has used the phrase \u201clow IQ\u201d to describe several lawmakers of color, as well, including Reps. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDuring the 2024 campaign, Trump regularly described Vice President Kamala Harris as a \u201clow-IQ individual,\u201d and, in at least one instance, referred to her as \u201cslow.\u201d He has also leveled the insult at Black reporters and other people of color in his orbit, and figures like New York Attorney General Letitia James.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhile Trump has also deployed the insult at white politicians like former President Joe Biden and California Governor Gavin Newsom, his targets are most often people of color. According to a review of Trump\u2019s Truth Social posts conducted by Mother Jones, the president used the phrase \u201cLow IQ\u201d at least 50 times between 2022 and April of this year. Sixty percent of the uses were directed an Black or brown individuals \u2014 and that\u2019s just in writing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn Monday, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver told <em>Inside the NBA <\/em>that Trump was \u201cwelcome\u201d at the Garden. \u201cWhat makes sports so special, especially when there\u2019s so much that divides people, is it\u2019s something that we have in common,\u201d he said. \u201cWe should look for those things that we have in common.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBut the first person to try to denigrate anyone who criticizes him as dumb, even as it pertains to the NBA Finals, is the president himself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/businessmovingservicess.com\/?p=142\">Nithya Raman Knocks Out Spencer Pratt in L.A.
